Pirfenex 200mg (Pirfenidone) is a medication which is available in 200mg-tablet form. It has proved successful in treating patients with idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis or IPF which was categorized previously as a chronic and ultimately fatal disease with a gradual decline in lung function. IPF is a progressive disease which causes scar tissue formation in the lungs, and Pirfenidone works by retarding the disease through reduction of fibroblast growth in the lungs. Treatment with this medication will not cure the disease, but has shown great success in slowing down its advance in many patients.
