Astralean (Clenbuterol HCL) is prescribed as an asthma medication because it can be used as a decongestant and bronchodilator similar to other drugs like Salbutamol or epinephrine. Recently, Astralean has been used by bodybuilders and athletes because it helps in weight loss; it accelerates the basal metabolic rate and improves performance in sports by boosting the oxygen-carrying capacity of the blood.
Dosage and Administration
Astralean (Clenbuterol HCL) is available as 40 mcg tablets and come in a box containing 50 tablets, but it is recommended that you use the dosage as recommended by your doctor. Individual dosages may depend on your body weight, medical requirement, and other medical conditions. It is advisable to take the recommended daily dosage at the same time every day for maximum benefit. Your physician may alter your dosage of Astralean tablets and the period, based on a physical examination, medical history and your response to treatment.
Astralean side effects are typically worse when starting the medication, but they should wear out soon; if they persist, then you should contact your doctor.
Some of the possible side effects include:
- increased sweating
- increased heart rate
- chest pain
- muscle cramps
- dry mouth
If any of these symptoms continue to persist, you are advised to stop this medication and see your treating physician immediately or seek urgent emergency medical treatment.
Astralean-40 mcg should not be used by patients who have allergies or hypersensitivity to this drug or any of its ingredients.
The drug may cause light-headedness or impaired vision in some patients. It is better to avoid activities such as driving or performing strenuous activities which requires mental acuity or perfect vision.
Before starting a course of Astralean (Clenbuterol HCL) you should advise your doctor if you:
- are pregnant or trying to become pregnant
- are breastfeeding
- have other medical conditions or disorders
- are using other drugs or medications
- are using vitamins, herbal products, and/or mineral supplements
- have a history of poorly-controlled diabetes
- have had a recent cardiac attack
- have vascular disease
Drug interaction with Astralean
Lexapro is not recommended when using this medication, but otherwise, there are no noted specific contraindications.
