Active Ingredient

Marketed Name

Caberlin 0.5mg (Cabergoline) is best described as a very powerful dopamine receptor agonist prescribed for patients suffering from high levels of prolactin hormone in the blood, a condition described as hyperprolactinemia, reducing its production from the pituitary gland. High levels of prolactin in women may result in missed or irregular menstrual periods, infertility, and in some cases, bone loss. In men, this condition can lead to reduced libido and enlarged breasts. Caberlin has been prescribed in conjunction with other medications to treat patients suffering from Parkinson’s disease.

Dosage and Administration

Caberlin-0.5mg (Cabergoline) is available as 0.5mg strength tablets; it is taken orally twice weekly for a period of 4 to 6 weeks or longer. The length and dosage will be determined by your doctor based on regular blood reports for serum prolactin levels in the blood and response to therapy. It is advisable to take this medication orally with a glass of water with or without food.
