Melanorm Cream 4% (Hydroquinone) is used to lighten dark skin patches caused by hyperpigmentation, freckles, melasma, age spots, and chloasma. Melanin is what causes the brown pigmentation on the skin. It decreases the formation of melanin in those areas. It causes the breakdown of melanosomes by inhibiting the activity of the enzyme tyrosinase, which produces melanin. The bleaching effects become visible in about a month usually.
