Duprost 0.5mg is a drug that contains Dutasteride as the active ingredient. This drug is usually prescribed to male patients suffering from an enlarged prostrate. This condition is known as benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH). It helps relieve the symptoms associated with BPH, such as frequent urination, acute urine retention and weak stream, by reducing the enlarged prostrate.
Duprost 0.5mg belongs to the group of drugs known as 5 alpha reductase inhibitors and it prevents testosterone from being converted into dihydro-testosterone in the prostrate. Doctors prescribe it as a standalone drug or as a combination with other medication. The drug could also reduce the need for prostate surgery.
